Political Satire (in Armenia??)

Before I had even finalized my ticket there were a few places which I knew I had to see for some unexplainable reason....One of these places was Kino Moskva. I don't know why I was so fascinated with this place or why my expectations were so high but it was on the top of my to do list.

Well I got the chance to go to Kino Moskva for an art exhibit. The place itself is essentially a movie theatre, but an upper floor was designated to show some art from local Armenian artists. Surprisingly enough,  the art was political satire poking fun at everyone from Serge Sargsyan(Armenian president), to Obama and Condi Rice.  I was really surprised to see art laden with such criticism openly displayed in such a prominent setting when it wasn't exactly supportive of the Armenian government. The artists had some really clever stuff which was quite refreshing. It made me feel proud to see freedom of expression at work in Armenia.
