The Kilikia Experience

Sometimes restaurants in Armenia give off a Medieval times-ish vibe. That was the case with Kilikia restaurant-where we all went for dinner after work. Fun decor, lots of stone and wood, aptly dressed waiters and pretty good food. I had probably the best dolma I've ever tasted...

The service was alright, we had some quail issues. Paulene ordered quail, but thanks to a miscommunication they brought her something completely different and tried to pass it off as quail. Paulene was having none of it...she wanted her damn quail. And so the quail became the star subject of the evening- the quail that we had to wait a half an hour for. It was worth it in the end, she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our fellow restaurant patrons were pretty much all locals, who were there to dance and enjoy the food. The music was pretty interesting, it started every 15 minutes on the dot ("just like the fountains at Bellagio"- citation Paulene). Armen and I even joined in on  some of the dancing....Like I've said before, Yerevan is making me do crazy things...

(Images from top: The exterior of Kilikia Restaurant, our medieval grandpa/guard who wanted his picture taken, the infamous quail, Paulene digging into her quail-Natasha's face says it all, the locals dancing it up, Armen and I joining in on the fun, yours truly getting into it, myself and the hostess- who I just had to get a picture with- love that outfit!)
