Old Yerevan

Sometimes the restaurants here take the theme thing a little too far. For example, Old Yerevan. It is a multi-floor complex with each floor representing a phase of Armenian history- starting with the old all the way to the modern day. Of course we chose the old traditional floor. It was kind of like Epcot Armenia. We had throne chairs, were surrounded by wood, straw, rope and various urns and things. The waitstaff were kind of cool in their traditional Armenian garb.

I think these pictures are more useful than any words I can come up with to describe the place. Approach with caution...

(Images from top: the exterior of the restaurant complex, don't you just love the decor on our floor, the hostess and musician in full costume- they're rocking it, just look at the smiles on those two faces- is it the food or the vodka?, yours truly with some truly lethal vodka, Gapo ready to grub- I guess when in Medieval surroundings do as they do or did,  playing with some of the accessories in the restaurant).
