"Ara de hors arev tur votnere jardi (I swear bro just break his legs)...."
No this isn't a bad line I heard out of Vervarats, it's some of the commentary I heard recently at an Armenian football game. Armenia versus Estonia.
I had never been to a football game before but I must say I really enjoyed myself. Disregarding the fact that it was raining and close to 30 degrees F, it was great fun. Oh and one more thing, there were no women. Absolutely. Whatsoever. Just streams of Armenian men, all bundled up in trademark black, with a few flags decorating them here and there.
Even the president was out to see the game. And it was a good game indeed. I actually felt a sense of patriotism here for once, standing in the bitter cold and shouting HAY-AS-TAN!!! Over and over again with everyone else. It was a close game but Armenia was able to pull off a tie in the last few minutes- and everyone went crazy!
If you're ever in Armenia I highly recommend the experience even if you dislike sports like yours truly!
