Artbridge

In every city there is always an expat spot where people go when they want to feel a slice of home. For Hemingway, in Venice, it was Harry's Bar. In Paris it was La Coupole. In Yerevan, that spot is Artbridge. Part bookstore, part cafe...it's the perfect place to have a casual dinner or just go for coffee, tea, and dessert. You always hear a mix of people speaking different languages, having "intellectual" conversations, or just perusing the selection of books.

It's another "insider" type of place because if you don't know about it, you'll pass by without a second glance.  You first step in to the small bookstore, and beyond that lies the cafe famous for its waffles and pancakes. It feels like an underground wine cellar done up in traditional Armenian decor... All of the art  and nicknacks are courtesy of local artists and the good part is that everything is for sale.

It's a great place to sit- over a pot of tea, with interesting people, discussing the problems of the world....

(Images from top: Armen and I posing in front of Kino Moskva-you know the place I'm obsessed with- on the way to Artbridge, the exterior of Artbridge, the interior of Artbridge, Birthrighter's having some of that intellectual conversation, more conversation with Gapo the funnyman, Gapo at the bar- always the center of attention, yours truly rocking Gapo's hat)!
