Our Goodbye Party

The party room in our homestay house was put to good use on our last night there, for a khashlama party. Khashlama is another ethnic Armenian dish, which is like a meat stew. Every family kind of has their own version of it. Not my favorite thing, but it was interesting for those who had never tried it before.

Our homestay family was gracious enough to set up a table for our entire group (plus a few local additions). My vodka repertoire expanded even more that day because I got to try mulberry vodka. It's kind of similar to drinking nail polish remover. Fun right? I definitely prefer the apricot version.

We ended our last night in Karabakh, with khashlama and song and dance....
