I'm so excited...I just had my phone interview with Haigag from the Armenian volunteer corps. I was initially nervous for the interview, especially my ability to speak "formal" Armenian, but he told me it was fine: "Inchi, shat el lav es khosum."

He was very cool, put me at ease, and told me about some of the organizations I might volunteer at...some sounded better than others. The hotel definitely sounded like an experience, as to one of the think tanks he said; "ha shat lav tgekh en, lav gorts en anum" (they're great guys, they are doing good work). I just love that.

Well it is almost 1AM and I have school tomorrow so that's all for today.

P.S. I love blogging, such an outlet!

Armenia the first time around

Since I'm all tech savvy and excited about blogging right now I thought I would post a few things from my first trip to Armenia. It was during my senior trip in 2005...and was definitely a whirlwind. We had five days to see Armenia and along with it countless relatives. Landing in Zvartnots at 1AM to a full crowd was sheer and utter madness...we felt like rockstars.

We got to do some great things on that trip- a cruise on Lake Sevan, we even got to plant a commemorative tree at Tsitsernakabert, the Genocide memorial. (Buying that tree, and it had to be a minutely specific type of tree, was an adventure unto itself- thanks for taking me along Oryort Lora!)

Lots of great memories on that trip-lots of partying, lots of ice cream (for me anyway),money exchange "butka" adventures, friendships made, and friendships lost...

The Excitement Builds

Today, I created my first blog!! I feel so tech savvy (I've never felt this way before haha)....Armenia here I come!
